My Turn!

Roland has discovered how much fun it is to have control over the faucet and sprinkler.  We had an active day playing in the "rain" as Roland described it.  I have realized that in documenting Roland's life I have also included his trusty side-kick Ollie as well;  although she wasn't that fond of the sprinkler game.  Roland is definitely not a toddler toddling any longer.  That boy can run!

I know my cars and colors!

Its amazing to see how much Roland has learned these past few months. He is truly a boy now with his expressions and 3-6 word statements about life.  I sometimes get these small bags of cars and he gets to find out what they are. Its always a surprise, but I was surprised when he found a car without wheels and announced, "Broken car. "   WOW.  We have a lot of fun just talking these days about cars, vans, school buses, trains, and other modes of transportation. .

Big Truck!

Roland is back in summer school and he loved his new big truck that I found for him.  School also tuckers him out sometimes.  And I wanted to update a portrait of him to show how much he is growing.  Roland now knows what a camera is and wants to see what is on the screen.

Sand, Mud and Play-dough!

It was a week of rain and sun. Roland has some time off from Montessori so we had plenty of time to explore the sand pile, play-dough, and I put his train tracks outside. Roland definitely knows what mud is and how much fun it can be.  As Miss Frizzle on The Magic School Bus would say. "Get Messy." Now that Roland is putting together 3 and 4 word sentences its a whole new world.   What magic to see him grow into a little boy.

Yea! Summer

We finally had some nice sunny weather and were able to play outside in the back yard.  Rolands' favorite spot is his truck lot with a hill of sand, gravel, dirt and a hot wheels track.  We also broke out the sprinkler.  Roland is finished with regular Montessori and will start summer school at the end of the month.  Until then we will have fun with the car lot, sprinkler and an upcoming Stomp Rocket outing.

Uncle Roman Is Fun!

We all had another rainy week at Grandma's but Roland is good at entertaining himself.  He has a favorite game of bugging Ollie.  In the photo Roland touches Ollie and Ollie touches back. Roland also has started to enjoy his books, especially the car books.   But once Uncle Roman showed up it was all about the Cool Cars!

Another Week At Grandma's!

Roland spends three afternoons at my house and here is a spinet of what Roland enjoyed while we were stuck inside because of Spring rains.   He learned a new task of pushing the car to make it move forward.  Roland and Ollie (the dog) have a special relationship: you chase me, I'll chase you, you bug me, I'll bug you. Roland really enjoyed making fart sounds with his Papa too. Not quite sure where he picked that one up from but I guess its a rite of passage when you're a little boy to be able to make certain sounds.  His favorite new question these days is. "What is that"?
