Mr. Transformers!

I am amazed how toys circle around to the next generation.  Roland's Uncle Roman played with Transformers too. As well as TMNT and Star Wars.  However, there are 10 times more characters today than 30 years ago.  Roland's favorite question?  Who is your favorite Decepticon? 

 

Lights, Camera, Action!

It was a bribe really; Roland could take Papa's photograph if he would pose for Papa,  It did the trick and I got a great photo of the two of them. 

The Barbershop!

We did a test run for Uncle Roman's wedding by visiting the barbershop for a hair cut. There was a time when nobody could touch his head except me and mama but times have changed.  He did great and we will be heading for the barbershop mid August for the August 20th wedding where he will be the ring bearer.

Student of the Day!

Roland loves his Tae Kwon Do class. He earned Student of the Day for his razor sharp focus and participation.   Great job Roland!  He knew exactly what he needed to do and rose to the challenge! 

 

Growing Up

Poor Thomas the Tank Engine and all of his other Sodor friends have been packed up and put in the basement to make way for other toys......Lego's, Turtles, Star Wars, and musical instruments.  Perhaps Roland will someday bring Thomas out and play with his own boys.

Today is My Birthday. I am 5 Now!

The day started with Roland wearing his new jacket that LaLa gave him.  It was a school day so we had a party at school.  Roland decorated the gift bags and chose the Star Wars Cars for each of his friends.  His friends had a great time playing with their cars and eating chocolate chip cookies that Roland chose for the day.   The party will continue on Thanksgiving when  Dada, Uncle Roman and Aunt Terri arrive to help celebrate his birthday.

Uncle Roman came into town for a visit on a blustery autumn morning.    If Roland has a reason to be happy  about something he will gladly smile for the camera, otherwise, catch me if you can!

Hard decision: Knight of the Round Table or Star Wars?

Roland is very excited about Halloween this year.   It was all the kids could talk about at school for the past 2 weeks.  Kasey and Roland decided on the Knight costume.   I got the Darth Star Wars and he wore it for 2 days but wanted the other one for the big day.   All the kids at Flower Drum had a grand time.   With every knight, one needs a princess to save.

We found these great foam squares that fit together to create a small town.  Just add the cars and signs and its hours of fun!

A day with Papa and Grandma at the Pumpkin Patch!

Papa wants to spend Friday's going on adventures with Roland.  We all went to the Pumpkin Patch and explored the corm maze, picking out pumpkins, racing rubber ducks and eating caramel apples.

Last Days of Indian Summer!

It had been a very warm summer, and though Fall has been around for a couple of weeks, Roland found time to relax in the hammock before the rains come.   

 

Is It Halloween Yet?

Roland is very excited about Halloween this year,   Kasey and Roland started to decorate their yard and he is trying on different outfits.   Of course Star Wars tops the list of choices.

Fun With Uncle Roman!

Uncle Roman and Roland could not remember the name of one of  Star Wars Character so they pulled out the iphone.   

 

The Apple Tree!

I have an apple tree that has been moved three times and I still can't find a good spot for it so its getting the ax!   Roland loves to help and did a good job with his loppers cutting the smaller branches into little pieces for the yard debris. 

 

First Day Of A New School Year!

Roland is returning to Flower Drum School and will attend a full days 3 days a week.    I love that Flower Drum has a big play area with dirt, and grass, room to run, plants, and other back yard pleasures and necessities for outdoor learning.   Its been a great school for Roland.

Westmoreland Park

We have a great neighborhood park that has been renovated over the past 2 years into a nature park.   There is a sand/water feature that the kids love.   We met  for a play date and Roland loves the water stream and building dams.
